Job Purpose
The Ebola Hub Coordinator will provide strategic leadership, programme management, and technical coordination for UNICEF operations within the Butembo Hub. This role is crucial for ensuring effective strategic and operational leadership in the intervention area, spearheading UNICEF's contribution to Ebola preparedness and response efforts. The position requires adaptability and cultural sensitivity to support effective and equitable response initiatives, particularly for children and at-risk communities in a complex and evolving health crisis context.
Responsibilities
The Hub Coordinator is responsible for leadership and management of the field office, ensuring efficient operations and staff supervision. A key duty is the coordination of Ebola preparedness and response activities, working closely with national authorities and partners. The role involves managing and integrating programmes, ensuring they align with UNICEF's mandate and the specific needs of the response. Building and maintaining partnerships with government bodies, NGOs, and other UN agencies is essential for effective coordination. The position also requires robust monitoring, reporting, and knowledge management to track progress and share lessons learned. Furthermore, the Hub Coordinator must manage risks and ensure accountability throughout the response operations, upholding UNICEF's commitment to children and communities.
Work Experience
A minimum of eight (8) years of relevant professional experience in programme management, planning, monitoring and evaluation, project administration, or a related field is required. Proven experience in managing multidisciplinary teams is also necessary.
