Job Purpose

The Digital Impact Associate will perform procedural and specialized activities related to UNICEF’s ICT systems, including laptop administration, connectivity, infrastructure, and emergency operations. This role involves the installation and routine configuration of ICT system components, user orientation, and managing network and telecoms infrastructure to support office operations. Procedural tasks include maintaining technical documentation and processing user requests, ensuring the smooth functioning of IT services. The position is crucial for maintaining and enhancing the digital infrastructure that supports UNICEF's critical work in the Democratic Republic of Congo, particularly during the ongoing Ebola response.

Responsibilities

The Digital Impact Associate will be responsible for providing general ICT and office support, including basic ICT administration. This includes managing laptop connectivity, network infrastructure, and ensuring the security of digital assets through cybersecurity measures. The role involves troubleshooting and resolving IT issues to maintain operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include the installation, configuration, and maintenance of ICT hardware and software. The associate will also be responsible for user orientation and support, ensuring staff can effectively utilize IT resources. Additionally, the position requires maintaining technical and user documentation and acting as a focal point for user requests and IT-related queries. This role is vital for supporting UNICEF's operations in a complex and challenging environment, ensuring reliable IT services for critical humanitarian efforts.

Work Experience

A minimum of six years of practical work experience in information technology, requiring systematic methods of troubleshooting and problem-solving.
