Job Purpose
The Communities Care Technical Consultant will provide essential training, coaching, and technical support to Women's Leadership Organization (WLO) partners and community discussion leaders. This support will cover the entire Communities Care cycle, ensuring effective facilitation of discussions, safe and appropriate referrals for individuals in need, robust supervision mechanisms, strategic action planning, preparation for public declarations of commitment, and successful implementation of these action plans. The consultant will play a crucial role in strengthening community-based protection mechanisms and empowering local leaders to address critical issues within their communities, contributing directly to UNICEF's mission of protecting children and adolescents.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive training and ongoing coaching to WLO partners and community discussion leaders on the Communities Care program. Facilitate safe and effective referral pathways for individuals requiring specialized support, ensuring timely and appropriate assistance. Develop and implement supervision strategies to monitor the progress and effectiveness of community-led initiatives. Guide partners in developing strategic action plans that address identified community needs and protection concerns. Support the preparation and execution of public declarations to foster community commitment and engagement. Ensure the successful implementation of action plans, tracking progress and providing necessary adjustments. Collaborate with local stakeholders to build capacity and promote sustainable community-based protection systems. Collect and analyze data related to program implementation and outcomes, providing regular reports. Contribute to the development and refinement of training materials and program methodologies based on field experiences. Liaise with UNICEF country office teams and other relevant partners to ensure program alignment and coordination.
Work Experience
A minimum of 8 years of experience working on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in humanitarian settings. Strong experience in GBV service delivery implementation and prevention programming, specifically with approaches like Communities Care. Proven experience in planning and facilitating training, workshops, and other capacity-building activities.
