Job Purpose
Under the direct supervision of the Health Manager, the Programme Assistant (G-5) will be responsible for supporting information collection, execution, and monitoring of technical and administrative activities within the Programme. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation and effective implementation of health-related initiatives in Niger. The assistant will contribute to data management, reporting, and logistical support, ensuring that project milestones are met and that resources are utilized efficiently. This position offers an opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of children by supporting critical health programs.
Responsibilities
The Programme Assistant will collect and process data and information on activity progress, ensuring accuracy and adherence to instructions. They will maintain project tracking and monitoring plans, from formulation through implementation to operationalization. The role involves analyzing information to identify budgetary implications and managing, recording, classifying, and updating files according to the established filing system. Additionally, the assistant will prepare working documents and tables for briefing and review sessions. They will perform other specific operational tasks within the program/project implementation and any other tasks assigned by the supervisor. A key responsibility will be using the Vision tool to support Health Specialists with fund transfer requests, procurement and distribution of supplies, travel and missions, and contract management, ensuring efficient administrative and financial processes.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in management, administration, accounting, or equivalent fields, with at least one year directly related to administrative and financial management within a project/programme.
