Job Purpose
The consultancy aims to provide senior-level analytical, synthesis, writing, and packaging support to UNICEF's Immunization Section. The consultant will transform existing data, documentation, and team inputs into high-quality communication products such as briefs, slide decks, messages, and reports. These outputs will inform programme decisions, support internal and external engagements with UNICEF management, Regional and Country Offices, the Gavi Secretariat, donors, and other partners. This role is deliverable-based and focused on defined outputs, not intended to perform a staff function, and will be crucial in navigating the evolving immunization landscape and reporting requirements.
Responsibilities
Synthesize complex data, programme documentation, application reviews, survey findings, and literature into clear, audience-specific communication products. Develop high-quality briefs, slide decks, messages, reports, and workshop outputs tailored for various stakeholders including UNICEF management, Regional and Country Offices, the Gavi Secretariat, donors, and other partners. Provide analytical and synthesis support for selected internal and external immunization engagements. Translate existing evidence and learning into actionable insights for programme decisions and strategic positioning. Ensure timely delivery of all assigned outputs, managing multiple time-sensitive products simultaneously. Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners to gather necessary information and ensure alignment. Contribute to the development of communication strategies for immunization programmes within the new UNICEF Strategic Plan and Gavi 6.0 Strategy periods. Support reporting requirements to Gavi and other donors by packaging relevant information and analysis. Adapt communication styles and formats to meet the needs of diverse audiences, from senior management to technical partners.
Work Experience
At least eight years of progressively responsible professional experience in public health, immunization, health programme management, monitoring, evaluation and learning, strategic communications, or donor/partner engagement. Experience in immunization, particularly in low- and/or lower-middle-income countries, is required. Proven experience developing analytical products, briefs, slide decks, reports, or communication packages for senior management, donors, global health partners, or technical audiences.
