The People and Culture (P&C) Team is crucial in fostering a supportive workplace and ensuring effective people management.
Job Purpose
The National Intern for People and Culture (HR) will support the P&C team in various functions, contributing to the effective management of human resources within UNICEF Cambodia. This role provides a valuable opportunity for a recent graduate or current student to gain practical experience in a UN environment, learning about recruitment, staff engagement, wellbeing, and organizational culture. The intern will assist in daily HR operations, support the implementation of HR initiatives, and contribute to maintaining a positive and efficient work environment. This position is designed to offer hands-on learning and professional development in people management, workplace culture, and organizational development, aligning with UNICEF's mission to serve the world's most disadvantaged children.
Responsibilities
Support the People and Culture team in daily HR operations, including recruitment processes such as posting vacancies, screening applications, and scheduling interviews. Assist in onboarding new staff and interns, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed and processes are followed. Contribute to staff engagement initiatives by supporting the planning and execution of events and activities aimed at fostering a positive workplace culture. Help in the administration of HR records and databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Provide support for staff development programs, including training and learning activities. Assist in the preparation of HR reports and presentations. Research and gather information on HR best practices and trends relevant to UNICEF's mandate. Support the implementation of child safeguarding policies and procedures within the HR function. Contribute to maintaining a positive and inclusive work environment by assisting with diversity and inclusion initiatives. Help in managing HR-related queries from staff and provide timely responses. Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on HR strategies and challenges. Ensure compliance with UNICEF's policies and procedures in all HR-related tasks.
Work Experience
No prior work experience is strictly required, but an interest in people management, workplace culture, and organizational development is essential. Experience with Microsoft Office tools and Canva is beneficial.
