Job Purpose
As an Administrative and Finance Assistant in UNICEF Costa Rica, you will play a key role in strengthening the administrative and financial platform that enables the organization to fulfill its mandate for children. Your work will ensure efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness in administrative processes, directly impacting the quality of services supporting programs for children and adolescents. This position is crucial for the effective functioning of UNICEF's operations in the country, ensuring that resources are managed effectively and that programmatic goals are met with optimal administrative and financial support. You will contribute to creating a supportive environment for the well-being and development of children.
Responsibilities
The Administrative and Finance Assistant will be responsible for processing invoices, providing support for financial control, and managing the contracting of consultants and service providers. This includes ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in compliance with UNICEF's policies and procedures. The role also involves managing supplies and equipment, ensuring that necessary resources are available for the smooth operation of the office and its programs. Additionally, the assistant will perform general administrative tasks to support the team and the office's daily activities. This includes maintaining records, preparing reports, and coordinating meetings. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of efficiency and accuracy in all administrative and financial functions, thereby contributing to the overall success of UNICEF's mission in Costa Rica.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of relevant work experience in administrative or administrative support functions is required. Experience in using ERP systems, particularly SAP Vision, contract and procurement management, financial processes (invoicing, payments, reconciliations, monitoring), and budget monitoring and control are considered advantageous.
