Job Purpose
This role drives organizational effectiveness, talent strategy, and an inclusive, high-performance culture at the executive level. The Chief of People and Culture is accountable for leading and managing a team of HR professionals that implement HR services which enhance the capacity of clients to deliver on their business goals and objectives. This position serves as a key strategic advisor to the leadership of the office in helping spearhead UNICEF’s global HR transformation. Candidates must bring extensive senior HR leadership experience, strong change management capability, and a proven ability to influence at scale, shaping people strategy and delivering lasting impact in a complex, purpose-driven environment.
Responsibilities
The Chief People and Culture is responsible for the management of the People and Culture section, ensuring efficient and effective HR service delivery. This includes developing and implementing strategic human resources plans aligned with organizational objectives. The role involves building and maintaining strong networking and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to support HR initiatives. As a key business partner, the incumbent provides strategic advice and support to leadership on all people-related matters. This includes the leadership and design of assigned Human Resources services, focusing on learning and capacity development for staff, and leveraging HR data analytics to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement. The role also encompasses nurturing, leading, and managing the HR team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Work Experience
Ten years of increasingly responsible professional experience in human resource management in an international organization and/or large corporation is required.
