Job Purpose
The UNICEF Education section seeks to engage a National Consultant to coordinate the quality implementation, monitoring, and reporting of progress on activities aimed at strengthening the quality assurance and improvement system for preschools and schools. This role involves timely risk mitigation for these activities. The consultant will play a crucial part in ensuring the effective execution of educational initiatives within Uzbekistan, contributing to the overall goal of enhancing the quality of education for children. The consultancy is designed to leverage national expertise to drive improvements in educational standards and practices, aligning with UNICEF's commitment to child development and rights.
Responsibilities
Coordinate the implementation of quality assurance and improvement initiatives in preschools and schools. Monitor the progress of ongoing activities, ensuring they align with project objectives and timelines. Prepare regular reports on the status of implementation, highlighting achievements, challenges, and key performance indicators. Identify potential risks and challenges that may impede the successful execution of activities and develop timely mitigation strategies. Collaborate effectively with government counterparts and other stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination and buy-in. Provide technical support and guidance on quality assurance approaches in education. Contribute to the development of policy documents, monitoring tools, and methodological guidelines related to educational quality. Ensure that activities are conducted in line with UNICEF's mandate and values, focusing on the rights and well-being of every child. Support the overall strengthening of the education system in Uzbekistan through effective coordination and monitoring.
Work Experience
Professional experience in programme coordination and monitoring within the field of education.
Skills
Knowledge of education quality assurance approaches, Understanding of current reforms in preschool and school education in Uzbekistan, Ability to work effectively with government counterparts, Prior experience with UN agencies and other international organizations, Experience in development of policy documents, Experience in development of monitoring tools, Experience in development of methodological guidelines, Programme coordination, Monitoring and evaluation, Risk mitigation, Reporting, Stakeholder engagement
