Job Purpose
The Travel Associate (GS-6) at UNICEF's Global Shared Services Centre in Budapest will process travel requests for UNICEF offices globally, ensuring compliance with UNICEF's Travel policies. Responsibilities
The Travel Associate will be responsible for the comprehensive administration of travel requests for UNICEF offices worldwide. This includes processing various types of travel, such as official missions, appointments, reassignments, separations, home leave, family visits, and education grant travels, in strict adherence to UNICEF's Travel policies. Key tasks involve accurately posting travel authorizations, meticulously verifying itineraries and ticket costs to ensure cost-effectiveness, and thoroughly examining and processing travel claims prior to final settlement. The role also encompasses transactional service management and pre-processing activities to ensure smooth operations. Client service is paramount, requiring effective communication and support to UNICEF offices regarding their travel needs. The position may involve shift work, including Sundays, with compensatory time-off for official holidays and potential for flexible arrangements including partial remote work.
Work Experience
A minimum of six (6) years of relevant work experience in international travel, operations, administration, or logistics is required, with at least one (1) year specifically in travel management. A BA degree counts as 3 years of experience. Experience in travel administration or management is essential. IT proficiency, including MS Office Suite, is required. Experience with UNICEF/UN travel procedures and global distribution systems is desirable.
