Job Purpose
The Global Help Desk - RRT/Nutrition Cluster Coordinator is a vital member of the Global Nutrition Cluster Coordination team, tasked with enhancing coordination capabilities at regional, national, and subnational levels. This role is particularly crucial for L2 and L3 emergencies and for countries identified in the Humanitarian Needs and Response Plan (HNRP). The consultant is expected to provide consistent, timely, and strategic leadership to ensure that cluster, sector, or working group responses are effective and well-coordinated. This involves guiding a diverse range of stakeholders towards a unified, evidence-based vision within complex humanitarian environments, ensuring a cohesive and impactful response to critical needs.
Responsibilities
The consultant will provide on-demand, tailored support, both remotely and in person, to strengthen coordination mechanisms, manage transition processes, enhance preparedness, and develop anticipatory action plans across various countries. This support will be delivered in close collaboration with the GNC Coordination Team, UNICEF Centers of Excellence (CoEs), and country offices. Key responsibilities include strengthening coordination capacities at regional, national, and subnational levels, with a specific focus on L2 and L3 emergencies and HNRP countries. The role demands providing predictable, timely, and strategic leadership to ensure effective and well-coordinated cluster, sector, or working group responses. The consultant will guide diverse stakeholders toward a shared, evidence-based vision in complex humanitarian contexts, ensuring alignment and coherence in emergency response efforts. This position is integral to the Global Nutrition Cluster Coordination team's operational effectiveness.
Work Experience
A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in roles related to nutrition is required, specifically covering areas such as nutrition in emergencies programming, nutrition coordination, public health, or nutrition planning and management. Experience in leading coordination in emergency settings, including natural disasters and conflict, is considered an asset.
