Job Purpose
UNICEF aims to improve how talent within the Global Education Practice is identified, developed, sourced, and deployed to ensure excellence in education programming and technical assistance. This consultancy will support the reinvigoration and operationalisation of the Global Education Practice Talent Management Strategy. The consultant will work under the overall supervision of the Senior Adviser (Education) for Global Management and Partnerships, and in close collaboration with HR Business Partners, the wider Global Education Practice, and relevant Global Programme Division counterparts. The role is crucial for ensuring that UNICEF has an agile, diverse, and skilled workforce equipped with the right mix of skills, experience, and deployment modalities to deliver on its mandate and the UNICEF Education Strategy.
Responsibilities
The Talent Management Consultant will be responsible for supporting the reinvigoration and operationalisation of the Global Education Practice Talent Management Strategy. This includes assisting in the identification, development, sourcing, and deployment of talent within the practice to ensure excellence in education programming and technical assistance. The consultant will collaborate closely with HR Business Partners, the Global Education Practice team, and relevant Global Programme Division counterparts. Key tasks will involve supporting the implementation of talent management initiatives, contributing to the development of talent pipelines, and facilitating the deployment of staff to meet the needs of country offices and global programmes. The consultant will also assist in monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of talent management strategies and provide recommendations for improvement. This role requires a proactive approach to talent management, ensuring alignment with UNICEF's strategic plan and education strategy, and contributing to a diverse and skilled workforce.
Work Experience
A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in talent management, human resources, or programme management, preferably within an international organization or the education sector. Experience in developing and implementing talent strategies is highly desirable.
