Job Purpose
Under the guidance of Chiefs of Sections (Social Policy, Health, Child Protection), the Programme Associate provides specialized programme and administrative support to facilitate the development, implementation, and monitoring of UNICEF's programmes. This role involves significant engagement in data analysis, budget tracking, reporting, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective delivery and compliance with organizational rules. The incumbent exercises judgment, anticipates needs, and recommends actions that contribute to programme planning, implementation, and reporting results, ensuring the efficient and effective execution of UNICEF's mandate to support children's rights.
Responsibilities
The Programme Associate is responsible for Project Management and Implementing Partnership Coordination, ensuring that projects are executed according to plan and that partnerships are effectively managed. They will handle Data Management, Analysis & Reporting, collecting, analyzing, and reporting on programme data to inform decision-making. Grant Management, Budget Monitoring and Reporting are key functions, involving tracking budgets, managing grants, and preparing financial reports. The role also encompasses Digital Innovation & Operational Efficiency, seeking ways to improve processes through technology. Communication, Knowledge Sharing and Dissemination involve sharing programme information and best practices. Capacity Building & Event Coordination includes organizing training and events. Finally, the role requires Flexibility & Surge Support, providing assistance across various programme areas as needed to ensure continuity and effective response.
Work Experience
At least 6 years of clerical work experience is required. Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings, and humanitarian contexts is an asset.
