Job Purpose
UNICEF Ecuador is seeking a dynamic Communication Officer (Media Visibility & Advocacy) to support strategic advocacy, media engagement, and public positioning efforts that advance children’s rights and influence national dialogue and decision-making. The role combines analysis, strategic advisory, and execution, contributing to the development of evidence-based advocacy actions, public positioning strategies, and high-level engagement processes. The Communication Officer (NOA) contributes to strengthening UNICEF Ecuador’s advocacy and public positioning by producing strategic intelligence and analysis to inform decision-making, supporting the design and implementation of advocacy strategies, leading the execution of positioning actions across media and public platforms, and ensuring coherence of institutional narrative across programmes and partnerships.
Responsibilities
Key accountabilities include Political, Social and Media Monitoring (Core Function), Advocacy & Communication Support, Advocacy Actions, Events and Public Engagement, and Internal Coordination & Learning Support. The role involves producing strategic intelligence and analysis to inform decision-making, supporting the design and implementation of advocacy strategies, leading the execution of positioning actions across media and public platforms, and ensuring coherence of institutional narrative across programmes and partnerships. This position is crucial for advancing children's rights through effective advocacy, strategic positioning, and influencing decision-making processes in a complex political and social environment.
Work Experience
A minimum of 1 year of relevant professional experience in communication, advocacy, public affairs, or a related field is required.
