Job Purpose

The Senior Consultancy in DHIS2 focuses on updating the platform, integrating it via APIs, and ensuring data integrity for the Health and Nutrition Program in Honduras. This role is crucial for strengthening the integrated disease surveillance system under the One Health approach, coordinating human, animal, and environmental health components. The consultancy specifically covers the human health domain modules managed by SESAL, aiming to enhance the DHIS2 platform's functionality, security, and interoperability. The objective is to ensure a robust and up-to-date system that supports effective disease surveillance and response, contributing to better public health outcomes for children and the wider population in Honduras.

Responsibilities

The consultant will be responsible for analyzing the surveillance ecosystem and parallel systems within the One Health framework. This includes performing an upgrade of the DHIS2 platform to a recent and stable version, as well as maintaining existing surveillance modules and configuring new ones to meet evolving public health needs. A key responsibility is implementing data exchange and interoperability between different systems, ensuring seamless data flow. The consultant will also focus on security aspects, conducting end-to-end testing to guarantee system integrity and reliability. Furthermore, strengthening capacities and facilitating knowledge transfer to local counterparts within SESAL is essential for the sustainability of the system. This involves providing training and documentation to ensure that the technical team can effectively manage and maintain the DHIS2 platform post-consultancy, aligning with the project's deliverables and expected outcomes.

Work Experience

Minimum of 5 years of demonstrable experience in building web applications, productive APIs, and databases. Experience in managing technical teams with effective communication and collaborative work skills is also required.
