Job Purpose
The role will provide high-quality technical assistance, advisory, and coordination support to the 'Superstar Teachers in the Digital Age' initiative. This multi-country program aims to equip teachers with digital pedagogy resources, AI-enabled support, and evidence-based approaches to enhance inclusive teaching and learning. As the initiative progresses from concept to implementation, expert consultancy is needed to strengthen project coordination, ensure coherent engagement with Country Offices and external partners, and offer timely technical advice. The consultant will also oversee the research partner, facilitate knowledge sharing, contribute to global public goods, and provide technical guidance to other countries on teachers and AI in education, leveraging initiative learnings.
Responsibilities
The consultant will undertake the following main responsibilities: Support overall project management and coordination for the 'Superstar Teachers in the Digital Age' initiative. Provide technical advisory and implementation support to ensure effective planning, follow-up, and reporting across the program lifecycle. Support coordination with the research partner to maintain momentum in research and evidence-generation processes. Provide documentation support, knowledge management, and sharing of learnings. Support coordination across relevant internal UNICEF teams engaged in the initiative's implementation. Provide technical assistance and advisory support to other countries on teachers and AI in education, leveraging initiative learnings. Ensure alignment with the initiative’s teacher- and pedagogy-first approach and facilitate donor deliverables.
Work Experience
A minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience in education, with a focus on digital education, including the use of education technology for children's learning and supporting teacher professional development. This should combine practical and theoretical experience at national and international levels.
