Job Purpose
The consultancy aims to produce a comprehensive, evidence-based report articulating the opportunity for private sector engagement in education. This report will outline the linkages between improved education outcomes and economic growth, identify practical entry points for private sector involvement as financiers, users, and brokers of education solutions, and recommend approaches for strengthening public-private collaboration globally and at country levels. The report will serve as a foundation for UNICEF's next-generation private sector engagement strategy in education, positioning the organization to support governments and partners in leveraging private sector capabilities for better, more equitable learning outcomes. The findings will be launched via a high-level event and advocacy plan in early 2027.
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for conducting in-depth research and analysis to produce a high-quality report on private sector engagement in education. This includes identifying and articulating the economic and market growth benefits derived from improved education outcomes. The consultant will map out practical avenues for private sector entities to actively participate in education solutions, serving as financiers, users, and brokers. Furthermore, the consultant will develop actionable recommendations for enhancing and guiding public-private collaborations at both global and national scales. The role involves synthesizing complex information into a clear, evidence-based narrative suitable for international audiences, and ensuring the report aligns with UNICEF's strategic objectives for private sector engagement. The consultant will also contribute to the planning and execution of the report's launch event and subsequent advocacy efforts, engaging with thought leaders and partners in education and the private sector.
Work Experience
A minimum of 8 years of proven experience in writing, editing, and managing high-quality reports for international audiences. Prior experience in engaging with private sector stakeholders is also required.
