Job Purpose
The consultant will be responsible for supporting the design, preparation, and delivery of the National Education Forum in Guinea-Bissau. This role requires close coordination with technical and financial partners, relevant government counterparts, and the UNICEF Centre of Excellence (COE). The primary objective is to facilitate a successful forum that contributes to the advancement of education in the country. The consultant will leverage their expertise to ensure the forum is well-organized, impactful, and aligned with national education priorities and UNICEF's strategic goals. This consultancy is crucial for fostering dialogue, sharing best practices, and identifying actionable strategies to improve the education sector in Guinea-Bissau.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of UNICEF Guinea-Bissau and in close coordination with technical and financial partners, relevant government counterparts, and the UNICEF Centre of Excellence (COE), the consultant will be responsible for supporting the design, preparation, and delivery of the National Education Forum. This includes developing the forum's agenda, identifying key participants, and coordinating logistical arrangements. The consultant will also be tasked with preparing background materials and presentations, facilitating sessions during the forum, and documenting key outcomes and recommendations. Furthermore, the consultant will engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, including government officials, development partners, civil society organizations, and the private sector, to ensure broad participation and buy-in. Experience in sectoral coordination, particularly within the education sector in Guinea-Bissau, is essential for effectively engaging these stakeholders. The consultant will also be expected to contribute to post-forum follow-up activities, ensuring that recommendations are translated into concrete actions.
Work Experience
At least 10 years of experience in the development and/or implementation of education sector programs. Minimum of eight years of experience working in a development context, with relevant experience in sectoral coordination in Guinea-Bissau. Proven experience in organizing national/international forums and engaging diverse stakeholders.
