The UNICEF Albania Country office is hiring an Education Officer to support the Education sector, focusing on school-aged children as part of the CPD 2022-2026. This role contributes to project interventions like Eduten and Akelius.
Job Purpose
The Education Officer, under the supervision of the Education Specialist, will provide professional technical, operational, and administrative support throughout the programming process for education programmes and projects. This includes development planning, delivery of results, and managing various technical and administrative tasks. The role involves facilitating programme development, implementation, progress monitoring, evaluation, and reporting. The incumbent will work closely with the Education Specialist and the education team to achieve results within the framework of the current Country Programme (CPD 2022-2026), specifically contributing to interventions like the Eduten and Akelius projects. The position is crucial for supporting UNICEF's mandate to promote the rights of every child, particularly in the education sector within Albania.
Responsibilities
Support to programme development and planning: Assist in the formulation, planning, and preparation of education programme documents, ensuring alignment with UNICEF's strategic goals and the Country Programme Document (CPD 2022-2026). Programme management, monitoring and delivery of results: Monitor and manage the implementation of education projects, track progress against objectives, and ensure timely delivery of results. Provide regular reports on programme status and identify any challenges or risks. Technical and operational support to programme implementation: Offer technical expertise and operational assistance to partners and stakeholders involved in the education programmes. Facilitate the execution of project activities and ensure adherence to UNICEF standards and guidelines. Networking and partnership building: Establish and maintain effective working relationships with government counterparts, NGOs, UN agencies, and other partners to foster collaboration and leverage resources for education initiatives. Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building: Contribute to identifying innovative approaches in education and support knowledge sharing and capacity building initiatives for staff and partners. This includes documenting lessons learned and best practices.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of professional experience in programme planning, management, and/or research in education is required. Experience working in a developing country and relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization are considered assets.
