Job Purpose
UNICEF seeks a consultant to support the Ministry of Health in Lesotho in developing and strengthening digital health systems and social accountability mechanisms. The goal is to improve community health service delivery through a comprehensive package of technical assistance. This includes enhancing interoperability, strengthening community governance tracking, and improving community and adolescent feedback systems. The consultant will play a key role in leveraging digital solutions to enhance the effectiveness and reach of child survival and development programs within the country.
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive and integrated package of technical assistance to the Ministry of Health. This includes developing and strengthening digital health systems and social accountability mechanisms to improve community health service delivery. Key tasks involve enhancing interoperability between systems, strengthening community governance tracking processes, and improving community and adolescent feedback systems. The consultant will also be expected to provide expertise in areas such as software engineering, information systems, and IT open-source systems development and implementation. This role requires a deep understanding of health informatics and eHealth systems development, ensuring that the implemented solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with national health priorities.
Work Experience
More than 5 years of experience in IT and open-source systems development and implementation (Global Goods). More than 5 years of experience in Health Informatics and eHealth systems development.
