Job Purpose

The intern will support the Health and Nutrition section in supply and logistics activities. This includes assisting with the procurement, storage, and distribution of essential health and nutrition supplies. The intern will gain practical experience in UNICEF's supply chain operations within the context of public health programs in Haiti. The role involves data management, report preparation, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient delivery of supplies. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to UNICEF's mission of improving child survival and well-being through effective supply chain management.

Responsibilities

Assist in managing the inventory of health and nutrition supplies, ensuring accurate record-keeping and stock levels. Support the procurement process by preparing documentation, obtaining quotations, and following up on orders. Coordinate the logistics of supply distribution to various program sites and partners, ensuring timely and safe delivery. Monitor the condition of stored supplies and report any discrepancies or damages. Contribute to the preparation of regular reports on supply chain activities, including stock status, delivery performance, and challenges encountered. Participate in meetings with the Health and Nutrition team and other relevant units to discuss supply chain needs and solutions. Assist in data entry and analysis related to supply chain performance. Support the development and implementation of improved logistics procedures. Ensure compliance with UNICEF's supply chain policies and procedures. Provide general administrative support to the Health and Nutrition supply team as needed. Help in organizing and conducting training sessions related to supply chain management for local partners.

Work Experience

Previous internship or volunteer experience in logistics, supply chain, or public health is an asset. Familiarity with inventory management systems and procurement processes is desirable.
