Job Purpose
The internship in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) at UNICEF Haiti offers a unique opportunity for a motivated individual to gain practical experience within a leading global organization. The intern will support the ICT team in Port-au-Prince, contributing to the maintenance, development, and implementation of technological solutions that enhance UNICEF's operational efficiency and program delivery. This role is designed to provide hands-on exposure to various ICT functions, including network support, system administration, and user assistance, within a dynamic humanitarian context. The intern will work closely with experienced professionals, gaining valuable insights into the challenges and rewards of applying technology in support of child rights and development.
Responsibilities
Assist in the daily operations and maintenance of UNICEF Haiti's ICT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and network systems. Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and escalating complex problems as needed. Support the implementation of new ICT projects and initiatives, contributing to planning, testing, and deployment phases. Help manage ICT inventory, ensuring accurate records of assets and supplies. Document ICT procedures, user guides, and technical information. Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills and understanding of UNICEF's ICT policies and standards. Contribute to cybersecurity efforts by assisting in the implementation of security protocols and user awareness campaigns. Support the development and maintenance of databases and information systems. Collaborate with the ICT team on various tasks related to digital transformation and innovation within the office. Assist in the procurement process for ICT equipment and services, ensuring compliance with UNICEF regulations. Monitor system performance and identify potential areas for improvement. Gain exposure to ICT challenges in a developing country context and contribute to finding practical solutions.
Work Experience
Previous internship or volunteer experience in an ICT support role is an asset. Familiarity with IT support ticketing systems and basic network troubleshooting is beneficial. Experience working in a multicultural environment is a plus.
