Job Purpose
The UNICEF Haiti office is launching the second cohort of the Young Talent Initiative, a strategic program designed to nurture and develop Haitian youth. This 26-week internship program is a cornerstone, aiming to build a pool of qualified, motivated, and dynamic young talent committed to making a positive impact. Selected interns will gain structured experience, mentorship, and practical learning opportunities from UNICEF section chiefs and professionals. This initiative offers a unique chance to be part of a transformative journey with UNICEF Haiti, contributing to a sustainable impact for children and communities. The program aims to expose future professionals to UNICEF's operations and enhance their academic skills through practical experiences aligned with their fields of study.
Responsibilities
The intern will support the activities of the Supply and Logistics section for a duration of twenty-six (26) weeks at the UNICEF office in Port-au-Prince. This role involves assisting in the planning, execution, and monitoring of supply chain operations, ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of essential goods and services to support UNICEF's programs in Haiti. Responsibilities may include contributing to procurement processes, managing inventory, coordinating with vendors and partners, and maintaining accurate records. The intern will also be involved in data collection and analysis to support decision-making and improve supply chain efficiency. This position requires active participation in team meetings, contributing to reports, and undertaking specific assignments as delegated by the supervisor. The goal is to provide practical experience in supply chain management within a humanitarian context, fostering professional development and contributing to UNICEF's mission.
Work Experience
Previous internship or volunteer experience in logistics, supply chain, or procurement is an asset. Familiarity with UN or NGO operations is desirable but not required.
