Job Purpose
The UNICEF Haiti office is launching the second cohort of the Young Talent Initiative, a strategic program designed to strengthen and develop Haitian youth capabilities. This 26-week internship is a key component, aiming to build a pool of qualified, motivated, and dynamic young talents committed to making a positive impact. Selected interns will gain structured internship experience, mentorship, support, and practical learning opportunities from UNICEF section chiefs and professionals. Outstanding participants may be considered for future opportunities within UNICEF Haiti based on their performance and the office's needs, offering a unique pathway for transformative engagement.
Responsibilities
The internship program is designed to provide young talents with significant immersion into UNICEF's mission, values, and activities within Haiti. Interns will actively contribute to ongoing projects within the Social Policy and Programme Management functional areas. Responsibilities will include supporting data collection and analysis for program monitoring and evaluation, assisting in the preparation of reports and presentations, and participating in field activities related to child protection, health, nutrition, WASH, and social protection programs. Interns will also be involved in research on relevant social policy issues affecting children in Haiti and assist in organizing workshops and meetings. They will work closely with UNICEF staff to understand the complexities of humanitarian work in challenging environments and contribute to the development and implementation of strategies aimed at improving the lives of children and communities. This role requires active participation in team meetings and a commitment to learning and applying UNICEF's operational procedures and principles.
Work Experience
No prior work experience is strictly required, but relevant volunteer experience or previous internships in social development, child rights, or humanitarian work would be an asset.
