Job Purpose
The UNICEF Haiti "Young Talent Initiative" offers a 26-week internship program designed to build a pool of qualified, motivated, and dynamic young talent committed to making a positive impact. This program immerses interns in UNICEF's mission, values, and activities, providing structured experience, mentorship, and practical learning opportunities. The goal is to develop Haitian youth, equipping them with skills and insights to contribute to children's rights and community well-being. Successful interns may be considered for future opportunities within UNICEF Haiti, fostering a pipeline of local professionals dedicated to improving the lives of children.
Responsibilities
The intern will support the Communication section in implementing strategic communication initiatives aimed at promoting UNICEF's mission and programs in Haiti. This includes assisting in the development and dissemination of communication materials such as press releases, social media content, website updates, and visual assets. The intern will contribute to monitoring media coverage and social media trends related to children's rights and UNICEF's work. They will also support the organization of communication events and activities, liaising with internal and external stakeholders as needed. Furthermore, the intern will assist in research and data collection for communication strategies and reports, ensuring alignment with UNICEF's brand guidelines and objectives. This role provides hands-on experience in various aspects of communication within a humanitarian context, contributing to the visibility and impact of UNICEF's efforts to protect children's rights in Haiti.
Work Experience
Previous internship or volunteer experience in communication, public relations, or a related field is an asset. Experience working with international organizations or in a developing country context is desirable.
