Job Purpose

The UNICEF Haiti Young Talent Initiative aims to strengthen and develop Haitian youth capacities by immersing them in UNICEF's mission and activities. This 26-week internship program seeks to build a pool of qualified, motivated young professionals. Selected interns will gain structured experience, mentorship, and practical learning opportunities, contributing to UNICEF's work and potentially being considered for future roles within the Haiti country office. This initiative offers a transformative journey with UNICEF Haiti, empowering participants to make a positive impact on children and communities.

Responsibilities

The Construction Intern will support the Les Cayes Field Office in construction and rehabilitation activities, managing and monitoring construction projects. Responsibilities include assisting in the development of the annual construction work plan, supporting the management and monitoring of contractor-implemented projects, and coordinating with UNICEF programs and operations, as well as government counterparts. The intern will also help in preparing design and technical documents, supporting the procurement process, and monitoring construction projects. Additionally, they will assist the Construction Specialist/Officer in preparing daily work reports and site meeting minutes, participating in site visits, and engaging in all activities organized by the Field Office and the Construction Unit.
