Stage en Communication, Gonaives, Haiti, 26 semaines
Organizational Context
UNICEF works in the world's toughest places to reach the most disadvantaged children. In Haiti, amidst armed violence, UNICEF focuses on child protection, health, nutrition, WASH, and social protection, ensuring children's safety and well-being. The Gonaives field office seeks to enhance visibility of its interventions.
Job Purpose
The UNICEF Haiti Country Office is launching the second cohort of the Young Talent Initiative, offering a 26-week internship program. This initiative aims to build a pool of qualified, motivated young Haitian professionals. The internship provides significant immersion into UNICEF's mission, values, and activities, coupled with mentorship and practical learning opportunities. Successful interns may be considered for future roles within UNICEF Haiti, contributing to a sustainable impact for children and communities. This role specifically supports the Gonaives field office's communication, documentation, and visibility efforts.
Responsibilities
The intern will support the visibility of the field office's activities by documenting and highlighting UNICEF-supported interventions in the covered areas. This includes collecting information, taking photos, shooting short videos, and preparing visibility content. The intern will also assist in producing communication materials such as photo captions, activity summaries, field notes, human interest stories, PowerPoint presentations, and social media posts. Additionally, the intern will accompany field teams on missions, distributions, and evaluations as needed to document activities. The role requires creating basic multimedia content, including photos, short videos, and simple interviews, tailored for digital platforms. The intern will also draft concise and structured texts like captions, summaries, field notes, and short human stories that showcase UNICEF's impact on children and communities. This position operates under the direct supervision of the Gonaives CFO and in coordination with the Communication and Advocacy Section.
