Job Purpose

The UNICEF Haiti office offers a 26-week internship program in education to provide university students and recent graduates with practical experience and exposure to UNICEF's operations. This initiative, part of the Young Talent Initiative, aims to build a pool of qualified young Haitian professionals. The program is designed to enhance educational experience through hands-on work, exposing interns to UNICEF's mission, values, and activities, thereby strengthening their academic skills and contributing to a safer, more secure school environment.

Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of Education Officers, interns will support the implementation of education programs. This includes participating in project coordination meetings with partners, consultants, and Departmental Education Directorates (DDE), and preparing meeting minutes and follow-up reports. Interns will also contribute to preparing PowerPoint presentations, briefing notes, progress reports, and other programmatic documents related to their respective office's activities. They will support the monitoring of the MPTF project and other initiatives in coordination with implementing partners and technical departments. Regular follow-up with schools involved in the MPTF and other projects will be conducted through phone calls with school principals and key stakeholders to document activity progress.

Work Experience

Previous internship or volunteer experience in a related field is an asset. Experience working with educational programs or in a humanitarian context is desirable.
