Job Purpose
The 26-week internship program, a key component of the Young Talent Initiative, aims to build a pool of qualified, motivated, and dynamic young talents committed to making a positive impact. Selected candidates will gain structured internship experience, mentorship, support, and practical learning opportunities from UNICEF professionals. Outstanding interns may be considered for future opportunities within UNICEF Haiti's national talent roster, contributing to the organization's mission to protect and promote children's rights in challenging circumstances.
Responsibilities
The internship will provide hands-on experience in UNICEF's education programs, particularly within emergency contexts in Haiti. Interns will support the implementation of educational initiatives aimed at protecting and promoting the rights of children, especially those affected by the ongoing crisis. This includes assisting in program activities related to child protection, health, nutrition, WASH, and social protection. Responsibilities may involve data collection and analysis, report writing, logistical support for program activities, and contributing to the development of program materials. Interns will work closely with section chiefs and UNICEF professionals, gaining practical skills in program management, monitoring, and evaluation. They will also participate in learning opportunities designed to enhance their understanding of UNICEF's mandate and operations in challenging environments, contributing to the goal of building a national roster of qualified young professionals.
Work Experience
Previous experience in program support, research, or data collection is an asset. Experience working in emergency settings or with children is desirable.
