Job Purpose

The UNICEF Haiti office offers a 26-week internship program for final-year university students and recent graduates to gain professional experience. This program, part of the Young Talent Initiative, aims to expose interns to UNICEF's operations, enhance their academic skills through practical application, and build a national roster of qualified young Haitian professionals. The goal is to provide a transformative experience, fostering a pool of motivated individuals committed to making a positive impact on children and communities in Haiti.

Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Education Specialist, the Education (Nexus) Intern will support the implementation, monitoring, and coordination of various activities. This includes tracking the implementation of the BID Grand Nord project in coordination with implementing partners, consultants, and the Ministry of National Education and Vocational Training (MENFP) technical departments. The intern will participate in project coordination meetings, contribute to meeting minutes and follow-up points, and conduct regular follow-ups with pilot schools via phone calls to document progress and identify implementation challenges. Additionally, the intern will assist in preparing PowerPoint presentations, summary notes, progress reports, and other project-related programmatic documents, and support the monitoring of activities.

No specific work experience is required, but prior exposure to project support or community engagement is an asset.
