Job Purpose
The Global Digital Education Team seeks a dynamic Research and M&E Coordinator to drive the rollout of UNICEF’s Digital Education & AI Strategy 2025–2030. This role will coordinate research and M&E across Cohort 1 countries implementing the Digital Education Strategy. The coordinator will engage with UNICEF country offices and partners, provide expert technical advisory services, manage independent research contracts, transform KPIs and monitoring data into actionable insights, and coordinate multi-country evidence generation on cutting-edge digital education programming. The initial phase supports nationally aligned digital and AI-enabled teaching and learning programs in 18 countries, aiming to demonstrate how these approaches can strengthen teaching, improve learning outcomes, enhance education systems, and reduce inequities at scale.
Responsibilities
Coordinate monitoring, evaluation, and research approaches for the UNICEF Global Digital Education and Learning Innovation Hub Team, the Education Centre of Excellence, and UNICEF Country Offices. Understand progress, performance, and emerging evidence on the implementation of digital education activities, focusing on their impact on learning and skilling outcomes. Support the coordination of research and M&E across Cohort 1 countries of the Digital Education Strategy implementation. Engage closely with UNICEF’s country offices and partners to ensure effective collaboration and data collection. Provide expert technical advisory services on research and M&E methodologies. Manage independent research contracts, ensuring timely delivery and quality of outputs. Turn Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and monitoring data into actionable insights for strategic decision-making. Coordinate multi-country evidence generation on cutting-edge digital education programming. Work with the Global Digital Education and Learning Innovation Hub Team and the Education Centre of Excellence to align research and M&E efforts with the overall strategy. Ensure that research and evaluation activities are conducted in accordance with UNICEF's standards and best practices.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in designing, managing, coordinating, or technically advising research and implementation evaluation activities, preferably in education, EdTech, or international development contexts.
