Job Purpose
The Digital Impact Assistant will perform procedural and specialized activities related to UNICEF’s ICT systems, including desktop administration and server operations. This role involves the installation and routine configuration of ICT system components, user orientation, and maintaining technical and user documentation. The assistant will also serve as a focal point for processing user requests, contributing to the effective functioning of UNICEF’s digital infrastructure. The position supports general ICT/Office Support, Digital Innovation and AI Support, Satellite and Field Communication Support, and minimal Digital Impact Administration, ensuring that UNICEF's technological resources are optimized to support its mission for every child.
Responsibilities
The Digital Impact Assistant is responsible for performing procedural and specialized activities within UNICEF’s ICT systems. This includes managing desktop administration and server operations, ensuring the smooth functioning of IT infrastructure. The role involves the installation and routine configuration of ICT system components, providing user orientation and support, and maintaining comprehensive technical and user documentation. Additionally, the assistant will act as a primary contact for receiving and processing user requests, troubleshooting IT issues, and escalating complex problems as needed. Key duties encompass providing general ICT and office support, assisting with digital innovation and AI initiatives, and supporting satellite and field communication systems. The role also involves minimal digital impact administration, ensuring compliance with IT policies and procedures. The assistant will contribute to the deployment and maintenance of digital tools and solutions, supporting UNICEF's operational needs and programmatic objectives in the field.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of practical work experience in information technology, including systematic troubleshooting and problem-solving. Experience in providing technical and business customer support and services is required. Experience supporting digital innovation initiatives, AI-enabled tools, or field connectivity solutions is also necessary.
