Job Purpose
The consultant will provide crucial support to enhance immunization programme performance through data-driven decision-making, aiming to reduce the number of zero-dose children and strengthen advocacy for children's rights in immunization. This role involves providing technical assistance to countries for analyzing eJRF data and interpreting WUENIC estimates, ensuring the quality and consistency of reported immunization data. The consultant will develop analytical outputs such as country immunization profiles, subnational data analysis, zero-dose and under-immunized analyses, and dropout/coverage trend analysis. Additionally, the consultant will assist UNICEF Country Offices and the Centre of Excellence (CoE) in identifying priority geographies and populations with high numbers of zero-dose children and translating data into actionable programme recommendations. The role also includes contributing to advocacy materials and evidence-based briefs to support evidence-based decision-making and promote children’s rights, while supporting global and regional coordination and harmonization of immunization data reporting.
Responsibilities
Provide technical support to countries on the analysis of eJRF data and interpretation of WUENIC estimates and trends. Conduct quality assurance and consistency checks of reported immunization data. Develop analytical outputs including country immunization profiles, subnational data analysis, zero-dose and under-immunized analyses, and dropout and coverage trend analysis. Support UNICEF Country Offices and CoE in identifying priority geographies and populations with high numbers of zero-dose children. Assist in translating data into actionable programme recommendations. Contribute to the development of advocacy materials and evidence-based briefs for evidence-based decision making and promoting children’s rights. Support global, regional coordination and harmonization of immunization data reporting. Provide technical review of reports, presentations, and data products related to immunization. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of all assigned tasks and deliverables as per the terms of reference. Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve programme objectives. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of immunization data analysis tools and methodologies. Participate in relevant meetings and working groups as required.
Work Experience
Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience, with proven expertise in eJRF processes, WUENIC estimates, immunization data analysis, and experience working at both country and regional levels. Experience with UNICEF, WHO, or similar organizations is also required.
