Job Purpose
The primary purpose of this consultancy is to provide technical support, operational coordination, and quality monitoring for the testing, finalization, and deployment preparation of an educational toolkit. This toolkit, comprising six guides, is specifically designed for preschool educators (children aged 5 years). The consultant will play a crucial role in ensuring the effectiveness and usability of these guides, contributing to the enhancement of early childhood education practices. The role involves overseeing the iterative process of developing and refining educational materials to meet the needs of educators and young children, ensuring alignment with pedagogical principles and UNICEF's commitment to child development.
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for providing technical guidance and operational coordination throughout the lifecycle of the educational toolkit development. This includes overseeing the pilot testing phase, ensuring that feedback is systematically collected and analyzed to inform the finalization of the six guides. The role involves ensuring the quality of the materials, verifying their pedagogical soundness, and preparing them for widespread deployment. Key tasks include coordinating with stakeholders, managing the review process, and ensuring that the toolkit aligns with best practices in early childhood education, active learning, and inclusive pedagogy. The consultant will also be responsible for the final preparation of the toolkit for deployment, which may involve developing training materials or guidelines for educators. This position requires meticulous planning, effective communication, and a strong understanding of educational engineering and child psychology to ensure the toolkit's success and impact.
Work Experience
A minimum of 20 years of relevant experience in the education sector is required, with proven experience in preschool/preparatory year education and classroom practice support. Expertise in pedagogical engineering and the development/revision of practical tools and guides is essential.
