Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to establish a roster of national consultants to build the capacity of English and German language teachers in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The consultants will deliver training and mentorship on using the Akelius Digital Language Course in formal classes and school clubs. The goal is to enhance teachers' understanding of the application's technical functionalities, enable them to plan effective learning activities, and correlate the course content with national curricula. This initiative is part of UNICEF's ongoing efforts since 2020 to integrate digital language learning tools in schools, improving educational opportunities for children, including those on the move.
Responsibilities
Develop and deliver comprehensive training modules for English and German language teachers on the Akelius Digital Language Course. Provide ongoing mentorship and support to teachers to ensure effective integration of the digital course into their teaching practices. Assess teachers' current digital literacy and language teaching skills, identifying areas for development. Design and implement practical exercises and activities that demonstrate the application's functionalities and pedagogical benefits. Facilitate workshops and one-on-one sessions to address teachers' challenges and questions related to using the Akelius platform. Monitor the progress of teachers and students in utilizing the digital course, providing feedback for improvement. Collaborate with UNICEF and local education authorities to ensure the training aligns with national educational standards and project objectives. Document training activities, outcomes, and best practices for future reference and scalability. Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Akelius Digital Language Course training program based on feedback and observed results.
Work Experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience in teacher training, curriculum development, or educational technology implementation. Proven experience in delivering training on digital learning tools and methodologies. Experience working with language teaching programs is an asset.
