Job Purpose
Under the supervision of the Deputy Representative Operations, the Supply and Logistics Specialist leads and oversees the country office’s supply chain operations. This role provides strategic guidance and ensures effective planning, procurement, contracting, customs clearance, in-country transport, distribution, and end-user monitoring of supplies, services, and construction works. The incumbent strengthens emergency preparedness and response, and collaborates closely with programme sections to deliver timely, efficient, and high-quality supply solutions. The Specialist also provides technical and advisory support to government counterparts and partners to enhance national supply chain systems, contributing to the realization of children's rights.
Responsibilities
The Supply & Logistics Specialist is accountable for managing the supply team, ensuring effective supply chain service delivery, and leading emergency response efforts. This includes overseeing the planning, procurement, contracting, customs clearance, in-country transport, distribution, and end-user monitoring of all supplies, services, and construction works. The Specialist will collaborate closely with programme sections and implementing partners to ensure timely and efficient delivery of high-quality supply solutions. A key aspect of the role involves providing technical and advisory support to government counterparts and national systems to strengthen their supply chain capabilities. The incumbent is also responsible for innovation, product management, and market analysis within the supply chain function, ensuring UNICEF's operations are efficient and effective in supporting children's rights.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in Supply Management, Contracting, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or Administration.
