Job Purpose
This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to UNICEF's Generation Unlimited (GenU) initiative, a global partnership focused on expanding opportunities for young people aged 10-24. The intern will support strategies to ensure young people are in school, training, or employment by 2030, with a focus on marginalized groups. Working under the supervision of the Youth Engagement and Entrepreneurship Lead or Senior Adviser, the intern will assist in designing and implementing youth engagement strategies, supporting entrepreneurship programs, contributing to youth-centric program development, and aiding in advocacy and outreach efforts. This role is crucial for amplifying youth voices and priorities within GenU initiatives and ensuring meaningful youth participation.
Responsibilities
The intern will support the Youth Engagement and Entrepreneurship Hub by assisting in the design and implementation of strategies for meaningful youth engagement, including operationalizing the Young People’s Action Team and the Youth Centrality Strategy. Support will be provided for entrepreneurship initiatives, such as organizing workshops and mentorship sessions, and developing entrepreneurial skills. The intern will contribute to the development and execution of youth-centric programs aligned with GenU’s strategic priorities. Additionally, the role involves supporting the development of advocacy materials to amplify youth voices and priorities. For the Global Solutions Hub, the intern will assist in developing resources for UNICEF Country Offices, support the strategic planning process for GenU 2026-2029, and help create and disseminate knowledge resources. General responsibilities include collaborating with the GenU Programme Team and external partners, conducting research on youth empowerment trends, and providing administrative support for program activities, meetings, and documentation.
Work Experience
Previous experience in program support, youth engagement, or event organization is an asset. Experience working with international organizations or in a multicultural environment is desirable.
