Job Purpose
This internship within the Social Policy Section in Ethiopia aims to provide practical experience in supporting evidence generation, data analysis, and knowledge management for cash transfer programmes. The intern will contribute to understanding vulnerability, inclusion, and programme performance, assisting in the drafting of reports and documentation of lessons learned. The role also involves supporting monitoring and evaluation frameworks, coordinating with other UNICEF sections and partners, and contributing to the communication and visibility of social protection initiatives. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in social policy implementation and contribute to improving the lives of children and women in Ethiopia.
Responsibilities
The intern will support the Social Policy Section by contributing to evidence generation and data analysis for cash transfer programmes, including compiling and organizing quantitative and qualitative data, and assisting with desk-based reviews of programme documents and reports. They will help summarize key findings on vulnerability, inclusion, and programme performance to inform internal analysis and planning. In knowledge management and reporting, the intern will assist in drafting donor reports, annual reports, and programme summaries, particularly those related to social protection and equity. They will also support the documentation of lessons learned and best practices, and contribute to analytical outputs such as internal briefs and presentations. For monitoring and evaluation, the intern will support the review of M&E frameworks and indicators, assist in compiling information for results monitoring and reporting, and contribute to capturing lessons learned from programme implementation. Additionally, the intern will support coordination with other UNICEF sections and partners, assist in organizing meetings and consultations, and follow up on action points. Finally, they will contribute to the communication and visibility of the social protection programme by developing communication materials and compiling content for donor reporting.
