Job Purpose
The Digital Disability Inclusion Consultant will lead the next phase of Oky's accessibility and inclusion efforts. This involves adapting the Oky digital public good, developing content, and increasing user acquisition among girls with disabilities and their caregivers in key markets. The role requires close collaboration with Organizations of People with Disabilities (OPDs) to ensure Oky effectively addresses the compounded stigma faced by girls with disabilities regarding menstruation and sexual/reproductive health. The consultant will contribute to reducing stigma and shame, enabling girls with disabilities and their caregivers to benefit from and contribute to a trusted digital platform.
Responsibilities
Lead the adaptation and enhancement of the Oky digital platform to ensure full accessibility and inclusion for girls with disabilities. Develop and refine content related to menstruation and adolescent health, ensuring it is accessible, contextualized, and relevant for diverse user groups. Drive user acquisition strategies targeting girls with disabilities and their caregivers across Oky's key markets, in partnership with OPDs. Foster and strengthen partnerships with OPDs, self-advocates, and disability networks to co-create and implement inclusive digital solutions. Develop capacity-strengthening resources, training materials, and guidance on digital disability inclusion for UNICEF country teams, partners, donors, and government counterparts. Represent Oky's digital inclusion initiatives in international forums and high-level engagements. Contribute to global publications, evidence briefs, and the development of principles on digital inclusion. Monitor and evaluate the impact of disability inclusion efforts, providing data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement. Ensure adherence to digital accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and inclusive design methodologies throughout product development and content creation.
Work Experience
Minimum of eight years of progressive professional experience in disability inclusion and accessibility, with a focus on digital inclusion and technology solutions. Demonstrated experience leading digital accessibility programs in emerging markets, familiarity with WCAG, assistive technologies, and inclusive design. Experience with digital products for women and girls, and partnerships with OPDs.
