Job Purpose
The Programme Manager (Infrastructure Finance) plays a key role in operationalizing Giga’s financing strategy, building on existing approaches and project finance tools. The role leads and coordinates engagement with international financial institutions (IFIs), development finance institutions (DFIs), and private sector partners. This position contributes to the structuring of financing solutions and the development of digital infrastructure investment pipelines, aiming to advance UNICEF’s mission by harnessing the full potential of emerging digital technologies. The Digital Impact Division (DID) is at the heart of reshaping how UNICEF delivers lasting results for children, and this role is crucial in ensuring equitable, affordable digital access for children, schools, and communities through innovative approaches to connectivity and infrastructure governance.
Responsibilities
The Programme Manager (Infrastructure Finance) is accountable for Resource Mobilization and Portfolio Growth with IFIs, actively engaging with international and development finance institutions to secure funding and partnerships. The role is responsible for Digital Infrastructure Project Financing, developing and structuring innovative financial solutions for digital infrastructure investments. This includes managing a Funding Tracker/CRM System of Connectivity Projects and Key Donor Accounts to ensure effective oversight and reporting. Furthermore, the position entails Stakeholder Engagement and Capacity Building, fostering strong relationships with partners and enhancing their capabilities in infrastructure finance. Finally, the role contributes to Financing Strategy Development, shaping the overall financial approach for digital inclusion initiatives to maximize impact for children.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in infrastructure finance, project finance, or a related field, with experience in international financial institutions or development finance institutions being an asset.
