Job Purpose
The UNICEF Global Programme Division is seeking an individual consultant to provide technical support and guidance on key initiatives under gender-transformative education programmes. The focus is on the empowerment of girls, skills building for girls, and young people’s transition to decent work. The consultant will serve as a skills-focused resource, contributing to the design and refinement of strategies, including inputs to emerging priorities such as green skills. The role will support the coordination and delivery of key regional moments, including a regional summit focusing on green skills for girls, green advocacy, and partnerships with and for girls. This ensures alignment across partners such as ASEAN, SEAMEO, UN agencies, private sector actors, and youth networks. It will also involve facilitating structured consultations with young people to inform programme direction and partnerships, and ensuring coherence across regional collaboration efforts.
Responsibilities
The consultant will undertake the following assignments: Coordinate with ASEAN, SEAMEO and UN agencies for the organization of one Community of Practice Meeting (August), one regional workshop (September/October), and one side event for a regional event (November). Coordinate and collate UNICEF Country Office inputs, ensuring quality and cohesion to track deliverables for Donor progress and annual reports (October 2026 and April 2027). Provide technical inputs to the development of strategies and approaches on girls’ skills and transition to decent work, including the integration of green skills within gender-transformative education programmes. Support the planning and coordination of key regional engagements, including the Green Skills Summit and meetings, ensuring timely delivery of outputs and effective stakeholder engagement. Facilitate structured consultations with young people to inform programme direction and partnerships, ensuring coherence across regional collaboration efforts and alignment with UNICEF's strategic goals.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of professional experience in education programmes, with a focus on girls' education, skills development, or youth employment. Experience in coordinating regional initiatives and working with international organizations and diverse stakeholders is desirable.
