Job Purpose

UNICEF has worked to protect the rights of children from earliest childhood through adolescence and continues to deliver under the five goal areas of the Strategic Plan. In recent years, UNICEF’s work to support the unique needs of adolescents has gained momentum, as the challenges facing them have come more sharply into view. Building on work across the UN with and for young people, and in line with the UN Youth Strategy, UNICEF launched Generation Unlimited (GenU) in 2018, a global partnership dedicated to skilling and connecting young people, aged 10–24, to opportunities in employment, entrepreneurship and social impact.
Responsibilities
Accountable for developing, managing, coordinating, networking, implementing and monitoring the communication strategy and associated products and activities, with the objective of promoting awareness, understanding, investment and action towards skilling and connecting youth to opportunities. The incumbent is responsible for activating Generation Unlimited’s partnership network in support of the mission, priorities and programmes at a global and country level. Key accountabilities include: Communication strategy, priorities and campaigns; Influential voices and special events; Resource mobilization support; Networking and partnerships; Monitoring and evaluation of communication KPIs; Multimedia impact storytelling.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of professional experience in communication, advocacy, public relations, or related fields is required. Experience in youth-focused programmes or partnerships is an asset.
