Job Purpose
The consultant will support the Global Programme Division (GPD), Social and Behavioral Change (SBC) Cross-Sectorial team in establishing and operationalizing the Academia 4 SBC Network in Africa. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice in SBC by fostering collaboration between academic institutions. The consultant will contribute to enhancing SBC pedagogy, faculty development, and the role of academia in delivering impactful SBC programs. The goal is to create positive, sustainable changes across the continent, including promoting behaviour-informed policy-making processes, and maximizing the impact of existing and future partnerships.
Responsibilities
Support the establishment and operationalization of the Academia 4 SBC Network in Africa, including developing work plans, communication strategies, and stakeholder engagement frameworks. Facilitate collaboration between academic institutions across Africa to enhance Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) pedagogy and faculty development. Contribute to strengthening the role of academia in designing and implementing SBC programs that drive positive and sustainable changes. Support the generation of evidence and the development of skills-building opportunities related to SBC. Foster south-south and north-south cooperation within the network by pooling resources, ideas, and expertise. Assist in organizing virtual and in-person meetings, workshops, and conferences for network members. Develop and disseminate knowledge products, such as case studies, best practices, and research findings. Monitor and evaluate the progress and impact of the Academia 4 SBC Network. Provide technical support to UNICEF country offices and regional offices on SBC-related academic partnerships. Ensure alignment of the network's activities with UNICEF's global and regional strategies for children.
Work Experience
Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in Social and Behaviour Change (SBC), programme management, or academic collaboration, preferably in an international development context. Experience in establishing and managing networks or partnerships is highly desirable.
