Job Purpose
The purpose of this consultancy is to lead global knowledge management (KM) for violence against children (VAC) and child protection agenda. This role will also support the preparation and coordination for the delivery of the Second Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children (VAC). Violence against children is a widespread violation of children’s rights, with significant lifelong consequences. While political momentum is growing, translating commitments into measurable results requires better evidence on effective interventions and sustainable financing. This consultancy aims to bridge these gaps by consolidating evidence, strengthening the link between political commitments, financing, and implementation, and leveraging opportunities like the upcoming Global Ministerial Conference.
Responsibilities
Lead the development and implementation of a global knowledge management strategy for violence against children (VAC) and child protection. This includes identifying, collecting, synthesizing, and disseminating best practices, lessons learned, and evidence-based interventions. Support the planning, organization, and coordination of the Second Global Ministerial Conference on Ending Violence Against Children, ensuring effective engagement of stakeholders and timely delivery of conference objectives. Facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration among UNICEF country offices, regional offices, and global partners working on VAC and child protection. Develop and manage a repository of knowledge products, including reports, case studies, policy briefs, and toolkits. Monitor and evaluate the impact of KM activities and contribute to the evidence base on what works in VAC prevention and child protection system strengthening. Support the preparation of background documents, presentations, and other materials for the conference and related high-level meetings. Coordinate with relevant UNICEF divisions, external partners, and governments to ensure alignment and coherence of efforts. Provide technical support and guidance on KM and coordination to relevant teams and stakeholders.
Work Experience
At least five years of relevant professional experience in knowledge management, programme coordination, or child protection, preferably within an international organization or NGO. Experience in organizing and supporting high-level conferences or events is desirable.
