Job Purpose
UNICEF seeks a highly motivated, organized, and innovative consultant to support the coordination, implementation, monitoring, and resource mobilization for the Today and Tomorrow Initiative (TTI). The consultant will play a key role in supporting the growth and scaling of the initiative to maximize its impact. Working under the supervision of the Climate Resilience Global Practice team, the consultant will collaborate closely with the Innovative Finance for Children (IF4C) team, EMOPS, PPD, and other relevant stakeholders, including regional and country offices. This consultancy offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a transformative initiative at the intersection of climate action, disaster risk finance, and children’s rights, by coordinating TTI across HQ, regional, and country teams, meeting donor reporting requirements, providing technical assistance, maintaining knowledge systems, and building the evidence base for resource mobilization.
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for coordinating the Today and Tomorrow Initiative (TTI) across Headquarters, Regional, and Country Teams, ensuring alignment and effective communication. A key responsibility will be meeting donor reporting requirements and maintaining accountability for the initiative's progress and outcomes. The consultant will provide technical assistance and build capacity within country offices to effectively implement TTI activities. Maintaining TTI knowledge systems, ensuring they are current and accessible to relevant stakeholders, will also be a core duty. Furthermore, the consultant will contribute to building the evidence base for TTI and actively participate in resource mobilization efforts to support the initiative's scaling and sustainability. This includes developing detailed work plans, knowledge management strategies, and technical guidance materials, as well as coordinating multi-stakeholder meetings, facilitating workshops, and delivering capacity-building initiatives.
Work Experience
At least 8 years of experience in programme management, donor engagement, and technical guidance related to climate action, disaster risk reduction, sustainability, and innovative financing mechanisms. Proven ability to develop work plans, knowledge management strategies, and technical guidance materials. Experience coordinating multi-stakeholder meetings and facilitating workshops.
