Job Purpose
The National Consultant will represent UNICEF in meetings and workshops as needed, and work with experts and consultants assigned to support data and statistics related work at the national statistical office. This role is crucial for providing technical and coordination support for the Violence against Children and Women (VACW) Survey in Uganda. The consultant will play a key part in sharpening the methodology, tools, and guidelines for the survey, ensuring its successful implementation and adherence to ethical standards.
Responsibilities
1. Provide technical and coordination support to national VACWS.
2. Support the national statistical office in sharpening the methodology, tools, and guidelines to partners/stakeholders related to the VACW survey.
3. Finalise, in collaboration with national partners and UNICEF CO, the VACW Survey Plan and Budget.
4. Ensure that Ethical Protocols and other ethical recommendations are addressed in the survey implementation processes.
5. Ensure that technical reviews by experts are carried out at key survey stages and coordinate the feedback and response from among key survey stakeholders and UBOS.
6. Ensure that all survey-related documents and deliverables are properly archived throughout the VACW survey process.
7. Participate in all Steering and Technical Committee meetings of the VACW survey.
8. Document lessons learned, challenges, and good practices throughout the VACWS process to inform future execution of similar surveys.
Work Experience
Proven minimum of 5-year experience in the coordination and/or management of national quantitative household surveys.
