Job Purpose
The purpose of this assignment is critical to the design and development of a robust, evidence-based Career Guidance Model for the Albanian education system. The International Consultant will lead the conceptualization and design of the model under the programme “Life Skills and Career Guidance programme”. The consultant will ensure that the model is aligned with EU standards and national education priorities, informed by international best practices, and tailored to the Albanian context. This includes defining key components, implementation modalities, institutional roles, and sustainability mechanisms to support the effective integration of career guidance into the education system, ultimately contributing to improved school-to-work transition outcomes for young people.
Responsibilities
The International Consultant will lead the conceptualization and design of a robust, evidence-based Career Guidance Model for the Albanian education system under the “Life Skills and Career Guidance programme”. This involves ensuring the model aligns with EU standards and national education priorities, drawing on international best practices, and adapting it to the Albanian context. Key tasks include defining the model's core components, outlining implementation strategies, clarifying institutional roles and responsibilities, and establishing sustainability mechanisms for effective integration into the education system. The consultant is also expected to foster synergies with the work of another team of experts focusing on Life Skills within the same project, ensuring a cohesive approach. The ultimate goal is to enhance the school-to-work transition outcomes for young people by embedding comprehensive career guidance services.
Work Experience
At least 7 years of relevant professional experience in career guidance, education systems development, or related fields, including demonstrated experience in designing career guidance models, frameworks, or programmes at a national or system level. Proven experience in designing and/or implementing career guidance systems or programmes within education systems.
