Job Purpose
The Communication Officer will assist in planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating advocacy and communication strategies to bring children’s and women’s issues into the public domain. This role aims to strengthen political will in support of UNICEF's mission and objectives within Bangladesh, and enhance the organization’s credibility and brand. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the production of multimedia content, managing social media platforms, ensuring donor visibility and digital fundraising initiatives, handling communication branding for events and campaigns, and contributing to the monitoring and evaluation of communication activities, including during emergencies.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement communication strategies aligned with UNICEF's mission and country-specific objectives. Create and manage engaging multimedia content, including text, images, and videos, for various platforms. Oversee and manage UNICEF's social media presence, ensuring consistent messaging and audience engagement. Support resource mobilization efforts through digital fundraising initiatives and donor visibility campaigns. Ensure consistent branding and communication for all UNICEF events and campaigns in Bangladesh. Contribute to the planning and execution of global priorities and campaigns at the country level. Develop and implement communication plans for emergency situations, ensuring timely and accurate information dissemination. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication activities, providing regular reports and recommendations for improvement. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to amplify UNICEF's message and impact.
Work Experience
One year of relevant work experience in communication, multimedia production, digital media, or social media management.
