Job Purpose
The purpose of this consultancy is to support the Quality Education Manager in the implementation and rollout of school-based teacher professional development and curriculum implementation. The consultant will provide technical assistance and digital systems support, focusing on content development, curation, and digitization. This role also involves innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building within the education sector. The consultant will contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) activities to ensure the effectiveness of digital skills learning initiatives and teacher development programs. The overall aim is to enhance the quality of education through digital transformation and robust teacher support systems.
Responsibilities
1. Programme Implementation and Rollout of School-based Teacher Professional Development and Curriculum Implementation: Support the planning, execution, and monitoring of teacher professional development programs, ensuring alignment with curriculum goals and digital learning strategies.
2. Technical Assistance and Digital Systems Support: Provide expert advice and hands-on support for digital learning platforms and systems, troubleshooting issues and ensuring smooth operation.
3. Content Development, Curation, and Digitization: Develop, curate, and digitize educational content, ensuring it is relevant, engaging, and accessible for teachers and students.
4. Innovation, Knowledge Management, and Capacity Building: Identify and promote innovative approaches to digital learning and teacher development. Manage knowledge generated from programs and build the capacity of stakeholders in digital education.
5. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL): Design and implement MEL frameworks to track progress, assess impact, and inform future programming related to digital skills and teacher development.
Work Experience
Minimum of 8 years of experience in teacher training, digital content creation, and educational project management. Proven experience in platform management, teacher professional development course creation, and project management. Familiarity with Ministry of Education's TPD initiatives and teacher professional standards is required. Experience with Learning Passport LMS, Universal Design for Learning Principles, and foundational numeracy/mathematics program design is essential.
