Job Purpose
Under the supervision and guidance of the Chief PMER, the Programme Associate provides specialized programme and administrative support to facilitate the development, implementation and monitoring of UNICEF's programmes. The role involves substantial engagement in data analysis, budget tracking, reporting, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective delivery and compliance with organizational rules. The incumbent exercises judgment, anticipates needs, and recommends actions that contribute to programme planning, implementation, and reporting results. This position is crucial for ensuring the efficient and effective execution of UNICEF's programmatic goals in South Sudan, contributing directly to the well-being and rights of children.
Responsibilities
1. Project Management and Implementing Partnership Coordination for Social Protection programming: Support project planning, implementation, and monitoring. Assist partnership management processes, including Due Diligence, PSEA, micro-assessments, and spot checks. Coordinate with Programme Managers and partners to ensure FACE requests align with workplans and are processed timely. Monitor timely liquidation of Direct Cash Transfers (DCTs). Management of cash payments and verification of payments for the Cash Based Assistance.
2. Data Management, Analysis & Reporting: Support collection and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data. Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for performance and donor reporting. Support use of digital and AI tools for data synthesis and decision-making.
3. Grant Management, Budget Monitoring and Reporting: Track budgets, expenditures, and grant utilization using relevant systems (e.g. SAP). Monitor grant validity and support reprogramming or extensions. Prepare periodic and ad-hoc grant and donor reports. Support preparation of funding proposals and statutory reports.
4. Digital Innovation & Operational Efficiency: Use AI and automation tools to improve efficiency. Serve as a resource.
Work Experience
A minimum of three years of relevant professional experience in programme support, administration, or a related field is required. Experience in data management, reporting, and working with international organizations is an asset.
